@imslicc the ‘invisible hand’ is not magic. The reason markets work best left to themselves is because knowledge is fragmented across all of society, the millions of people all have far superior knowledge of their own situation/micro economies that far away central planners never could… it’s not enough to say «the free market will take care of it» WE are the market! individuals acting and cooperating!

I know the point of this video is to excite and motivate others into action or speech, however I am disgusted with the gross over exaggeration presented with some parts of this video. Our pillows are stuffed with neurotoxins? That is akin to saying grapes increase cancer risk; the amount is too little to affect our bodies. If human breast milk contains the most «neurotoxins» in our food, then it is clear to me neurotoxins are not the problem. «Do the fucking research.»

funny how all the haters are just trying to find fault with this video because it isn’t «convenient» for them and it doesn’t match how they roll. I think she did a great job, whether she really understood everything she was saying or that she was merely reciting what she’s memorised.

@abcunix
you miss the point entirely, you say win votes! but who do you vote for? the government! corporations get their power from government. There are two means of acquiring wealth in this world, the first is voluntary trade/co-operation, also known as the productive means, the second is coercion/theft, otherwise known as the political means. We need to create a society where voluntary contracts/cooperation is the norm, and where no one is able to use force on ANYONE.

@DaveC86 And isn’t it upsetting that this is what my college environmental science professor is having us watch for class!
I’m disgusted.

@DaveC86 Whatever you think about this argument people with money are not powerless, especially when money can buy ads which win votes…

Well said DaveC86. If theses morons that cliked the «like» bottom have the slightest idea that «government is the root of all evils» they may have a different opinion. Because their argument is baseless at best, they will always use the «F» word in their answer. Go fig.

a true eye-opener to how much we waste as consumers.

Of course we use 25%. We are the most productive country with goods and food for the world. We don’t keep the 25% of the resources we consume. You aren’t going to see countries in Africa consuming and producing at the rate we do, due to their social and governmental and private sector structures. It’s just that all this use is done by the countries that can produce the most efficient and cost effective way possible so we all benefit. Her thinking is so linear and close minded it’s sick.

First of All, 50% of our tax money doesn NOT go to the military. Second, The government is by the people for the people, and it is NOT meant to look out for us and take care of us. It has very limited constitutional requirements, e.g. Protect our nation and our liberties. The government is limited by the Constitution on what it can’t do to us, by design as founded. Damn right the corporation (private sector) is bigger than the government. It is what is meant to grow in our country.

This is not to say we are above the law, but government is meant to protect our liberties and is limited to what it can do, this is to allow a flourish private sector (illustrated by the cliched big evil corporations.) To bad I never learned that in school…..I was indoctrinated to the left as usual but luckily my instincts and common sense and post-school education helped me come back to reality.

This video demonstrates the total failure of state education. It is fallacy after fallacy from beginning to end, there’s no understanding of even the most basic economic principles.. this is truly a cartoon portrayal of the real world, it’s sad to see so many likes… I don’t even know where to begin with this… for one thing, the government should be the number 1 target of every Earth loving human being.. not ‘corporations’, absent government granted powers, corporations are in fact powerless.

@logstrain You think it’s only the Americans, Australians are even more stupid because they believe the government is their mother and will look after them. Capitalism isn’t fucked, Corporate monopolism is fucked, open the markets, rid the economy of the minimum wage, and people will appreciate their ‘stuff’.

Actually it wasn’t AFTER world war two it was USING world war two. They used it to get out of the crisis. You reactivate economy with the armaments industry and get rid of unemployment by killing a whole bunch of the unemployed people.
